The Psalms of David
Sheri Pedersen
Do you struggle with discouragement, wrestle with your faith, or feel defeated in your battle with sin? Come be encouraged by looking at the life of David - who struggled with these same things - and yet was called "a man after God's own heart." The Psalms give us a window into his soul and provide a pattern to follow as we pursue God's own heart.
The Leadership of Nehemiah
Keila Mingo
With uncertainty and fear lingering in the air, our world seems to be in complete chaos and disunity. Do you feel compelled to do something — anything — to help? Do you desire to be used by God? Consider how God is calling you to make a difference and step up to the plate. Don’t let the immensity of the world’s needs paralyze you so that you don’t do anything at all. In this workshop we will be exploring the life, legacy and example of Nehemiah as he led the Israelites through the literal rubble surrounding their lives and helped restore and rebuild them to a new Hope.
Learn how God can use you, the gifts He’s blessed you with, and develop leadership skills by accepting the challenges He has placed before you.
Hosea: God's Steadfast Love for an Adulterous People
Max Dalrymple
Have you ever wondered how God could love you when you've been so unfaithful to Him? In the book of Hosea, God uses Hosea's relationship with his adulterous wife to tell the story of His deep love for His people who continually turned their backs on Him. The story shows how deep God's love is for His people, even when they're unfaithful.
In this workshop, we'll look at what Hosea teaches about the nature of God and His love and how we can be faithful to Him in the way that we live.
2:00pm Workshops.
How to Write a Devo: Using Creative Writing to Study Old Testament Texts
Jill Newman
The Old Testament is chock full of amazing stories of God’s people overcoming huge obstacles. How do we apply these stories to help us grow in our faith? In this fun, interactive workshop, we’ll learn to use devotional creative writing techniques to dig deeper into the text, draw out those nuggets of wisdom and write them down in a memorable, engaging way that will strengthen and grow our faith.
Set Apart: Israel and Its Enemies
Karl Newman
What was the difference between Israel and its enemies? Why did God bless Israel and judge the surrounding nations? Why did God bless Israel and yet judge them and even allow them to be defeated at other times? How did adopting the beliefs and practices of the surrounding nations lead Israel away from God?
Join us to learn how these lessons from the Old Testament apply to you and your faith today. Learn how events from thousands of years ago show God’s love for us today and his enduring faithfulness to help us in challenging and difficult times. See you there!
Jesus: Lamb of God
Randy Brenneise
Do you ever struggle with feeling forgiven and forgiving others?
Come learn how God has dealt with our sin starting in the Garden and finishing it on the cross and how that can change the way you view your sin and those who sin against you.
When Adam and Eve were kicked out of the garden God clothed them with animal skins to cover their nakedness. What do animal sacrifices in the OT teach us about Jesus the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world?
